“Have Confidence in God’s Love” – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

“A dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds {and} display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

The Bible says that you are God’s own purchased, special person. Simply put, you’re God’s best! The reason you look at yourself small is that you don’t know who you are; you haven’t seen yourself in the mirror of God’s Word. In order to understand the value of yourself, you must contemplate the cost of your salvation. To see your price tag you must look at the cross of Calvary. That is where you’ll see the magnitude of the price that was paid for you and then you’d know who you really are and how valuable you are.

You are valuable to God as the price He willingly paid for you. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son…” If He loved you enough to give the life of His Son for your sake, then you are as valuable to Him as Jesus is. God loves you and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:35-39), not even sin.

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [resurrection] life” (Romans 5:10 AMP).

Sin can no longer separate you from God’s love; the problem of sin has been dealt with. When you’re confident of God’s love, you need not to be afraid of anything. You’ll become confident, knowing that you’re propped up on either side by the power of the Holy Spirit. You’ll be able to go through life winning in spite of the surrounding situations.
