Consequences of Disunity – Unity (Part 2)

This piece of article takes our study of on the subject of ‘unity’ to next level. In the first part, you learnt what unity is and how you can walk in unity. We have brought this part to enhance your knowledge about the consequences of disunity.

Let’s begin a journey to attaining knowledge in the Word of God.

Consequences of Disunity:

Not walking in unity means not functioning in accordance to the will our Heavenly Father. It means functioning outside the blessings of the Lord which is revealed by the Holy Ghost, in unity.

If someone does not walk in unity, they would not be able to see the glory of God in their life. On the other hand, those who walk in unity can achieve great things in Christ because they cannot be refrained from the things they have ever imagined for (Genesis 11 v 5).

Jesus said in Mathew 12 v 25: “…Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.” This is a consequence of walking in disunity.

We, the children of God, are instructed to mark those who don’t walk in unity and withdraw ourselves from them. A person, who wanders off the path, is one who breaks ranks and walks in disharmony. Thessalonians 3:6: “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.”

Other lessons on Unity

God does not want us to wander. In the house of God, there are structures and there is leadership. These structures convey patterns of how to walk in unity in the light of Word of God – a guiding principle and manual for the Christian life.

We are instructed in the scriptures not to neglect the assembly of the brethren as the manner of some is (Hebrews10:25). We must function together as God’s children and His congregation, and that is one of the reasons why various fellowship groups have been organized in the church.

In order to attain enlightenment and blessings of our beloved Jesus, we should never get off track of Unity. We need to be determined enough to walk in unity and live our live the way our God wants us to.
